Hunger Strike Of Abie Nathan

That this House notes with concern the declared intention to fast to the death of Mr Abie Nathan, the prominent Israeli peace campaigner; notes that he has taken this drastic step to force a re-consideration of the Israeli law forbidding contact between Israeli citizens and representatives of the Palestine Liberation Organistion; notes that he has already lost almost one stone in weight and is taking nothing but water; notes that concern for his life is growing throughout Israel and the world; urges the Government of Israel to recognise that the only road to peace for them is mutual recognition with the Palestinians; and calls upon them to begin re-drafting this self-defeating law and to convince Abie Nathan to cease his fast before it is too late.
