Coal Mining Subsidence
EDM number 78 in 1990-91, proposed by Alan Meale on 15/11/1990.
That this House, whilst welcoming the inclusion of a new Street Works Bill in the Queen's Speech, the main purpose of which will be to give greater co-ordination and standardisation of road/street repairs, is greatly disappointed that, despite assurances given by Her Majesty's Government's Ministers, no Bill was included in the Royal Address with the purpose of giving home owners in coal mining areas proper rights and considerations for either repair or compensation to them for damage caused to their properties by the effects of coal mining subsidence.
This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
