Nursery Nurse In-Service Trainning

That this House notes that nursery school nurses are being employed to care for special needs children in mainstream schools but are receiving little or no specialised training for the job; furthermore notes local education authorities rarely include nursery nurses in their in-service training courses; therefore calls upon local education authorities to ensure that as part of the Education Act 1981 they, in conjunction with the National Association of Certified Nursery Nurses, run appropriate in-service training for nursery nurses; and calls on the Government to fully fund this training.
