That this House is deeply concerned by the actions of the Swedish-owned LIC Care Limited in dismissing Mr Mike Kirby from his post as Manager-Prosthetist at the Carlisle Disablement Services Centre; notes Mr Kirby was instantly dismissed by LIC Care Limited without any satisfactory explanation and after 10 years of exemplary service to the limbless of Cumbria and Southern Scotland; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to launch an immediate investigation into both the employment practices and financial procedures of LIC Care Limited, and to remove them forthwith from the list of companies eligible to tender for disablement service contracts in the NHS.
