Proper Educational Priorities
EDM number 738 in 1990-91, proposed by Jerry Hayes on 23/04/1991.
That this House deplores the cuts planned by Labour-controlled Derbyshire County Council in primary school support, special needs and its peripatetic music service, rather than increase the price of school meals, which it has not raised since 1981, or abolish its equal opportunities department, which costs almost ú1 million per annum; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Education and Science to investigate state education in Derbyshire as a matter of urgency.
This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
