Opposition To Tory Policies In Local Government
EDM number 677 in 1990-91, proposed by Ron Brown on 27/03/1991.
That this House realises that because of continued cutbacks in central government funding, most local councils are facing difficult times; nevertheless is surprised that Lothian Regional Council has voted to withdraw financial support from a number of community-based organisations, including Edinburgh's Citizen Rights' Office and Unemployed Resource Centre, which have been active opposing Tory policies; and calls on the Regional Labour Group to do everything within its power to reverse this decision at the earliest possible opportunity.
This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
