Scrapping Of Hms Warspite And Proposed Swansea Z Berth
EDM number 64 in 1990-91, proposed by Donald Anderson on 13/11/1990.
That this House, in the light of the scrapping of HMS 'Warspite' and the recent decision to retire its sister ship HMS 'Conqueror' for similar design faults which may have a more general application to the nuclear subfleet, urges the Government to abandon forthwith its plans to establish a Z Base at Swansea, which are most strongly opposed by local councils and citizens.
This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
