Cuts In Training For Ex-Offenders
EDM number 637 in 1990-91, proposed by Derek Fatchett on 25/03/1991.
That this House expresses concern at the threat posed to adult training for ex-offenders throughout England and Wales by reductions in employment training funding and the criteria being used for allocating grants to voluntary organisations by the training and enterprise councils; regrets the potential impact of the reduction in employment provision on the effectiveness of community based sentences for offenders; and calls upon the Government to establish a separate training fund specifically targeted at ex-offenders.
This motion has been signed by a total of 58 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
