West Glamorgan County Council
EDM number 633 in 1990-91, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 22/03/1991.
That this House expresses concern at the tactics employed by Labour controlled West Glamorgan County Council during the Neath by-election; notes that Plaid Cymru candidate County Councillor Dewi Evans was refused permission to be filmed during a visit to an adult training centre run by West Glamorgan County Social Services, whilst the Labour candidate was allowed to be filmed during a visit to a local primary school whilst accompanied by the wife of the Labour Leader; recognizes that one party Stalinist democracy is still the flavour of West Glamorgan Labour politics; and concludes that the Labour party, fearful of losing Neath, is adopting strong arm tactics to prevent any views other than their own being expressed during the election.
