Lord Palumbo
EDM number 615 in 1990-91, proposed by Tony Banks on 18/03/1991.
That this House expresses its outrage at the plans of the property developer Lord Palumbo to demolish eight listed buildings in the City of London on the Mappin and Webb site; believes that the continuing destruction of listed buildings in London and their replacement by vile protuberances is making the Capital architecturally tedious; considers that a property developer is not a fitting person to lead the Arts Council; and calls for Lord Palumbo's dismissal together with the rejection of his proposed architectural excrescence by the Secretary of State.
This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
