London Borough Grants Scheme

That this House deplores the behaviour of Conservative councils which are part of the London Borough Grants Scheme and which have blocked even a standstill budget of ú30.1 million; records the deep anxiety and distress which failure to agree causes to 690 voluntary organisations in London which depend on the scheme and some of whom face imminent collapse from the behaviour of a few Conservative councils; and calls upon the scheme members to meet forthwith to agree a budget at the maximum figure permitted by the order of the Secretary of State.
