New President Of Usdaw

EDM number 598 in 1990-91, proposed by Dawn Primarolo on 13/03/1991.

That this House congratulates the honourable Member for Preston on becoming President-elect of USDAW; notes this is the first occasion that USDAW, whose membership is mainly women, has elected a woman President; also congratulates the members of USDAW for electing for the first time a majority of women to its Executive Council; and recognises the encouragement this gives women in general and especially in trade unions.
