Reaction To Murder
EDM number 494 in 1990-91, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 18/02/1991.
That this House knows that the murders in the United Kingdom by the provisional and disloyalist criminals are intended for publicity and for public reaction; recognises that waging peace requires constant security work, the determined pursuit of justice and of jobs; congratulates the overwhelming majorities who turn from the provocation to hatred and who reject criminal violence and intimidation; and believes that as the murderers are limited by physical resources, by their own questioning as to the achievements of futile killing, and by what their supporters will tolerate, they should be faced by reaction to each murder that diminishes them in every way.
