Electricity Price Increases 1991/92

EDM number 491 in 1990-91, proposed by Terry Rooney on 18/02/1991.

That this House notes with alarm the proposed price increases of the electricity distribution companies of up to 13 per cent.; notes that these vicious increases will be particularly harmful to the elderly, sick and disabled but are also an unnecessary burden on ordinary working people already suffering from high interest rates and the poll tax; and notes that the unemployed and single parents will also be at risk of disconnection by this further attack on inadequate living standards.
