EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT'S GULF WAR RESOLUTION
EDM number 408 in 1990-91, proposed by David Madel on 05/02/1991.
That this House regrets the refusal of over half the Labour MEP's to support the European Parliament's resolution expressing solidarity with the allied armed forces deployed in the Gulf under Resolution 678 of the United Nations Security Council; congratulates the European Democratic Group of Conservative MEP's on speaking up strongly in support of Britain's role in the Gulf; and welcomes the European Parliament's heavy defeat of the motion tabled by the British Labour Group, whose call for an immediate and unconditional cease-fire would effectively reward the perpetrator of a brutal and unprovoked act of aggression against an independent sovereign state.
This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
