Pub Theatre

That this House recognises the value of the Johnson Family production of the Changeling recently performed at the White Bear, Kennington and appreciates the efforts and achievements of Mr Vince O'Brien in promoting pub theatre; also notes that the Johnson Family company operates on co-operative principles, producing lively and lucid performances for a public not necessarily in the habit of attending theatre but of a quality to compete with the best that is offered by nationally subsided theatre companies; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to provide the necessary financial resources to such companies to enable pub theatre to be more widely accessible to the public.
