Families Of Asylum Seekers

EDM number 362 in 1990-91, proposed by Joan Lestor on 29/01/1991.

That this House believes that in recognition of the importance of the unity of all families, whatever their national, ethnic or racial origin, the immediate families of asylum seekers with exceptional leave to remain in this country should be permitted to join them here, and that the requirement for such families to wait four years before doing so should be lifted.
