That this House condemns the Government's handling of the National Health Service; believes the Government have created a major crisis by starving the National Health Service of sufficient finance; is disgusted that 4,500 more beds are to close as National Health Service managers are forced to get rid of a ú70 million deficit before April 1991; notes that this year's bed closures will take the waiting list in England to over one million for the first time in the history of the National Health Service thus ensuring that many sick people will die on the Tory waiting lists of pain; recognises that this cruel situation has been brought about because of the decision by the Government to move the National Health Service towards a market orientated organisation based on profit not care; calls upon the Government to stop treating people's lives in such a cavalier fashion; and demands that the Government immediately provides sufficient cash to fund the National Health Service properly.
