Action For A Comprehensive Test Ban

EDM number 304 in 1990-91, proposed by John Reid on 16/01/1991.

That this House, conscious of the real threat to world peace and stability represented by nuclear proliferation, believing that the January meeting of the parties to the 1963 Partial Test Ban Treaty provides a crucial opportunity, by turning this treaty into a comprehensive test ban, to stop further advances in nuclear proliferation, therefore calls on the United Kingdom Government to use its position in the conference to support the conversion amendment and thereby advance the cause of global non-proliferation.
