That this House welcomes the news that the Dalai Lama of Tibet is to visit the United Kingdom in March; urges Her Majesty's Government to receive him as a distinguished world leader and a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; and calls on the Government, together with other members of the European Community, to call on the People's Republic of China: (a) to introduce and guarantee respect for human rights in Tibet, (b) to release all political prisoners in Tibet and (c) to discuss with representatives of the Tibetan people, including the Dalai Lama, the future of Tibet.
