Rural Fire Cover In North Yorkshire

That this House is deeply concerned by the cuts to the rural fire service cover proposed in the County Fire Officer's review for North Yorkshire County Council; deplores the County Council's failure to make the review public and to inform the residents of North Yorkshire about its contents and implications; congratulates the Labour prospective parliamentary candidates in Ryedale and Richmond, John Healey and David Abrahams, for bringing the review to public attention; and calls on the Government to ensure that North Yorkshire County Council does not jeopardise lives and livelihoods in the county by pressing ahead with the proposed cuts in fire engines and firefighter posts at rural stations.
