Mr Kilroy-Silk And Professional Standards Of Conduct At The BBC
EDM number 216 in 1990-91, proposed by Alice Mahon on 11/12/1990.
That this House believes that the BBC, as public service broadcasters, must insist on the highest standards of professional conduct from those who make programmes for them; calls on the governors of the BBC, in the light of revelations in a national newspaper on 10th December concerning the behaviour of Mr Robert Kilroy-Silk, to draw up a code of conduct to protect young women who appear as guests on their programmes from cheap sexual advances; and believes that the BBC should insist that independent producers who make programmes for them should also adhere to the code.
This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
