Suspension Of Gazza Line
EDM number 180 in 1990-91, proposed by Terry Lewis on 06/12/1990.
That this House notes that, following complaints, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has caused the temporary cessation of the telephone premium service Gazza Line; recognises this to be another example of a sporting personality being used in a service which is exploitative of telephone subscribers; therefore insists on a complete ban on this service and others, which are principally aimed at young people who are not telephone subscribers in their own right; and calls upon the Director General OFTEL to ensure that such codes of practice as exist are enforced without delay.
