North Atlantic Assembly

That this House extends a warm welcome to all delegates and observers participating in the 36th Annual Session of the North Atlantic Assembly in London from 25th to 30th November; congratulates the Assembly on the way in which it has provided an effective framework for bringing together parliamentarians from North America and Europe to discuss defence, security and related issues; is pleased to note the attendance of guest delegations from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, Australia and Japan; and looks forward to the North Atlantic Assembly continuing to play a useful and constructive role in the formulation of a new strengthened international understanding.
