Ellen Wilkinson - Centenary

That this House recognises the centenary later this month of the birth of Ellen Wilkinson; places on record its appreciation of her valuable work as a trade unionist, Labour Member of Parliament and feminist; and believes her work is best illustrated in her position as organiser in the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies in Manchester in 1914, in representing the people of Middlesbrough East from 1924 to 1931 and Jarrow from 1936 to 1947 and in leading the Jarrow crusade in 1936.
