Public Safety

EDM number 1218 in 1990-91, proposed by Martin Redmond on 14/10/1991.

That this House condemns British Rail for using potentially dangerous track circuit and signalling safety equipment; demands that the Secretary of State initiates a full public inquiry into the signalling safety systems as a matter of urgency before a major disaster occurs; and also demands that he provides sufficient funds for research with a view to providing British Rail with the best signalling equipment anywhere in the world.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
