Clydesdale District Licensing Board

EDM number 1201 in 1990-91, proposed by Jim Hood on 24/07/1991.

That this House congratulates the Clydesdale District Licensing Board for its efforts to stamp out under-age drinking in their district; welcomes their decision to refuse the renewal of an off-sales licence to a shop owner who had a previous conviction for selling alcohol to people under-age; is alarmed that the Sheriff's Court overturned this decision at appeal; and calls on the Lord Advocate to hold an enquiry into this case which has weakened the efforts of the Licensing Board and the local community to eliminate under-age drinking in Clydesdale.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
