Consultation On N.h.s. Trust

EDM number 1176 in 1990-91, proposed by Gwyneth Dunwoody on 23/07/1991.

That this House believes that the proposed establishment of an NHS Trust, to be known as Mersey Regional Ambulance Service Trust, should be completely condemned as an unacceptable unworkable project; notes that the supposed period of consultation, from 26th April, when the document was circulated, until 26th July, the date for responses to be submitted, was not serious, since the Chairman of Chester Health Authority had already been appointed Chairman Designate of the new Trust Board and organisation for the proposal is continuing; and notes, meanwhile, that no evidence has been offered on the financial costings of this proposal or how using ambulancemen and women acting as car valets or driving instructors can improve the medical care of patients.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
