Grenada Fourteen
EDM number 1133 in 1990-91, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 15/07/1991.
That this House is deeply concerned that the death penalty has been pronounced on 14 people in Grenada following their conviction for the murder of Maurice Bishop; supports an appeal for clemency on the grounds of compassion and believes that the death penalty is wrong; notes that the right of appeal to the Privy Council no longer exists and is concerned at the lack of further appeal; and calls upon the government of Grenada to intervene to save the lives of those 14 people.
This motion has been signed by a total of 34 MPs.
