World Student Games

EDM number 1112 in 1990-91, proposed by Richard Caborn on 11/07/1991.

That this House welcomes to Britain the 6,000 participants from over 100 countries who are taking part in the World Student Games, which start in Sheffield on 14th July; and further congratulates the city for its far-sighted decision to stage the games, which has not only helped in the regeneration of the city, but has assisted Britain in being recognised by the world's sporting bodies as a country capable of staging major multi-sport events.

This motion has been signed by a total of 31 MPs.
