Great Ormond Street Hospital For Sick Children
EDM number 109 in 1990-91, proposed by Brian Sedgemore on 22/11/1990.
That this House regrets the funding crisis at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, including Queen Elizabeth's Hospital, Hackney; recognises that this crisis results from the special health authority's dependence on income from private patients, particularly from abroad; welcomes the enormous public generosity during the Wishing Well Appeal; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to meet the expected shortfall in income in the current year and to ensure that the hospitals are properly funded and less dependent on unreliable sources of income in future.
This motion has been signed by a total of 39 MPs.
