CATS' PROTECTION LEAGUE AND CONTROL OF WEAPONS
EDM number 1086 in 1990-91, proposed by Terry Lewis on 08/07/1991.
That this House supports the view of the Cats' Protection League that there should be a requirement to control the distribution of air weapons, and crossbows; that the minimum age for possession and use of such should be raised to age 17 years; that the sale of weapons, crossbows and ammunition by mail order should be prohibited; that the penalty, on conviction, for misuse of such weapons should include the confiscation of any weapons or ammunition in the possession, for the time being, of anyone so convicted; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to bring forward the necessary legislation as a matter of urgency.
