That this House congratulates the News of the World newspaper for its 30th June expose of British Telecom chatlines; recalls that many similar revelations have been drawn to the public's attention in the past five years; is appalled that Her Majesty's Government still refuses to act against the company whose network has become, since privatisation, a conduit for pimps, prostitutes, paedophiles and pornographers; and therefore, in the absence of any interest from Her Majesty's Government, calls upon the Chairman of British Telecom to volunteer to eschew the enormous profits from these seedy services by discontinuing them forthwith.
