Severn Bridge Debt

EDM number 1066 in 1990-91, proposed by Huw Edwards on 02/07/1991.

That this House notes the announcement that part of the debt on the Humber Bridge is to be written off; calls, as a matter of equity, for a similar decision on the ú122 million pound debt on the Severn Bridge which is an unjustifiable burden on the people, business and the leisure industry of South Wales; and seeks the eventual elimination of tolls which are a formidable psychological barrier on the principal gateway to Wales.
