Vetting

EDM number 1053 in 1990-91, proposed by Harry Cohen on 01/07/1991.

That this House opposes the recommendations of the Home Office Scrutiny Report on Criminal Records which would result in a significant increase in the overall amount of vetting; is particularly concerned that such vetting and disclosure would extend to spent offences and even to acquittals or decisions by the authorities to discontinue proceedings; considers this an infringement of individual civil liberties; and calls upon the Home Secretary to reject these particular recommendations.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
