West Yorkshire Rail Electrification

EDM number 1043 in 1990-91, proposed by Max Madden on 26/06/1991.

That this House believes the West Yorkshire rail electrification scheme, which is an important key to improved passenger services, employment and investment in West Yorkshire, should proceed as planned; and urges Government Departments, especially the Department of Transport, to co-operate fully with the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Authority to remove all outstanding obstacles to this most important rail investment programme proceeding.
