London Ambulance Workers
EDM number 99 in 1989-90, proposed by Tony Banks on 28/11/1989.
That this House expresses its extreme concern at the Government's failure to settle the ambulance workers' dispute; is appalled to know that the London Ambulance Service currently faces a staff shortage of over 200, together with an extremely high rate of staff turnover; notes that the army and police are unable to provide a proper ambulance service for London; knows that Londoners have the highest regard for the men and women of the Ambulance Service and wish to see their justifiable and reasonable claim met in full; and calls upon the Government to cease their campaign of intimidation and hostility towards these dedicated workers and submit the current dispute to independent arbitration forthwith.
This motion has been signed by a total of 61 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
