Decision Of Scottish Television Not To Screen Scottish Football Over The Festive Period

EDM number 93 in 1989-90, proposed by Harry Ewing on 28/11/1989.

That this House regrets the decision by Scottish Television Ltd. not to screen Scottish football between 17th December 1989 and 7th January 1990; strongly urges Scottish Television Ltd. to reconsider this decision against the background of the offer from the Scottish Football League to allow them to screen matches in addition to the 30 already agreed; reminds Scottish Television Ltd. that those who will suffer most by this decision are the housebound and those in hospital; and urges Scottish Television Ltd. to fulfil their obligations and responsibilities to the many followers of their football coverage.
