Dublin Summit
EDM number 926 in 1989-90, proposed by William Cash on 30/04/1990.
That this House congratulates the Prime Minister on the democratic lead she gave at the Dublin Summit to the United Kingdom and Europe by insisting on a European Community through willing co-operation between independent sovereign states, with the primary democratic role reserved to national parliaments (including the allocation of taxation and public expenditure) by insisting that concepts such as 'economic and monetary union' and 'political union' must be precisely defined in this context and by rejecting federalism.
This motion has been signed by a total of 106 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
