Parish Council Links With Eastern European Countries

That this House congratulates Tadley Town Council on its initiatives in organising a relief convoy of medical supplies, food, clothing and other items essential to the survival of the people of its adopted Romanian village, Gherghesti, in the commune of Petrocti; welcomes the magnificent support given to the ten person mission led by the Chairman of Tadley Town Council and the Newbury Weekly News, together with many local firms and individuals, particularly the children of Tadley County Primary, Bishopswood Infants, Burnham Copse Junior and Greenham Court Schools; is encouraged by the establishment of such links between communities in the United Kingdom and Romania; and calls on other parish, town and community councils to develop similar contacts.
