Congleton Residents' Petition and Congleton Borough Council Motion

EDM number 909 in 1989-90, proposed by Alex Carlile on 30/04/1990.

That this House notes the petition signed by 15,000 residents of Congleton; congratulates them on their peaceful protest against the poll tax; and further notes the motion of Congleton Borough Council amended by the Conservative Group Leader to express dismay that the Government had not revised spending assumptions in calculating Congleton's rate support grant for next year and to deplore the imposition of the safety net.
