Outpatient Ambulance Services In Cheshire
EDM number 898 in 1989-90, proposed by Doug Hoyle on 25/04/1990.
That this House condemns the decision following the meeting of Cheshire Ambulance Service and the district health authorities not to reverse cuts made by them during the national pay dispute in the provision of outpatient ambulance services in Cheshire; notes that the community health councils' statutory right to consultation was ignored; believes that the criteria used in making this decision were financial and not clinical, in contravention of Health Circular (78) 45; is dismayed that some disabled and elderly people are already being forced to forgo treatment because of reduction in the service; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to intervene on behalf of outpatients in Cheshire.
