Teacher Shortages
EDM number 87 in 1989-90, proposed by Alan Meale on 28/11/1989.
That this House believes that the problems of teacher shortages within the United Kingdom will not be solved without substantial additional resources being made available to the education service by central government; and further believes that the effectiveness of the service depends crucially upon the teachers and other ancillary staff who work within it, and that this factor should be reflected by substantial increases in salaries to ensure education does not lose out in recruitment, retention and development of its workforce.
This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
