Job Losses at Ford's Halewood Plant

That this House regrets the decision of Ford U.K. to shed 3,000 jobs at its Merseyside plant; notes the high levels of productivity and profitability at Halewood in recent years; recognises the endemic problems of continuing high unemployment in the Greater Liverpool area; therefore urges Ford to urgently reconsider their decision; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to look at ways of stimulating investment and job creation on Merseyside.
