Support For Councillors Against The Poll Tax

EDM number 781 in 1989-90, proposed by Ron Brown on 22/03/1990.

That this House expresses solidarity with Lord Provost Eleanor McLaughlin and ten Edinburgh District councillors who have had their allowances and expenses frozen because of their support of non-payment of the so-called community charge; and calls on the whole Labour Movement to give these public representatives full backing in a struggle against an iniquitous Tory tax.
