Estonian National Day

EDM number 765 in 1989-90, proposed by Dafydd Elis Thomas on 20/03/1990.

That this House notes the declaration of national independence passed by the General Assembly of Estonia on 2nd February; applauds the fact that Estonia seeks independence through peaceful and democratic means, and that the rights of other ethnic minorities will be enshrined in Estonian law; and sends its wholehearted greetings to the Estonian people, who celebrated their National Day on Saturday 24th February.
