Conduct Of The Minister Of Agriculture With Regard To Genetically Engineered Food

EDM number 756 in 1989-90, proposed by Peter Hardy on 19/03/1990.

That this House considers that the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food should not have acted with apparent stealth in regard to the granting of approval for the sale of food produced by the use of genetically engineered organisms; notes that in no other country has such permission been given; and further calls upon the Minister to offer an explanation of his action and of the rather furtive approach which was adopted.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
