That this House congratulates Karl Jones of Holyhead on winning a Silver Medal at the Commonwealth Games; shares with the community in Ynys Mon a sense of pride in his achievement, but deplores the way sections of the media, particularly an ITN news reporter, accused him of drug taking, an accusation which was totally false and without foundation, and which caused immense and unnecessary distress to his family; and calls on the Press Council and the Broadcasting Complaints Commission to investigate this matter without delay, and to consider issuing a code of conduct on the way reporters treat members of the public in pursuance of seeking information, and to impose appropriate, and where necessary, punitive sanctions for the breach of such a code.
