Means Testing Of Reduced Earnings Allowance
EDM number 608 in 1989-90, proposed by Tony Benn on 26/02/1990.
That this House believes that it is grossly unfair that earnings allowances paid to those who have suffered due to an industrial injury should then be means tested for the purpose of calculating housing benefit; and calls upon the Government to introduce amending legislation which would exempt reduced earnings allowance on the same basis as mobility allowance and attendance allowances which are not means tested.
This motion has been signed by a total of 42 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
