Waste Material (Wath On Dearne)

EDM number 580 in 1989-90, proposed by Peter Hardy on 19/02/1990.

That this House notes that unfavourable views have been expressed in regard to the suggestion that a sample of the waste material which has lain in Wath upon Dearne for many months be brought to Westminster; agrees that honourable and Right honourable Members would not wish to be in close proximity to this material; but also notes that the people of South Yorkshire living near this waste take a similar view; and considers that since the material should never have been allowed to enter the United Kingdom, it is disgraceful that it should still be here; and further considers that it should be moved to Finchley if it cannot be sent back to the United States.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
